WVLA Membership Reminder
Don’t forget to renew your WVLA membership. The membership year runs from December 1 – November 30. By joining, you will received a member rate for Spring Fling and the Annual Conference and you can stay informed about issues affecting all libraries in the state.
WVLA Spring Fling
Spring Fling is scheduled for April 3 & 4, 2008 in Flatwoods, WV. Check out information on conference programs and registration.
There will be an Academic Division meeting on April 3, 2008 at 3:30. Please come with ideas for the rest of the year.
Appalachian Studies Association
The Appalachian Studies Association annual conference will be held at Marshall University from March 28-30, 2008. This year’s theme is The Road Ahead: The Next Thirty Years of Appalachian Studies. The Friday night keynote speaker is Kentucky author Silas House.
Ohio River Festival of Books
The Ohio River Festival of Books is scheduled for March 7 & 8, 2008 at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena Conference Center in Huntington, WV. Visit the festival website for details on authors, programs, and schedules.
WVLA Conferences
Spring Fling will take place on April 3-4, 2008 in Flatwoods. Conference proposals are being accepted and are due by February 28, 2008.
The annual conference is scheduled for October 15-17 at Stonewall Jackson Park.
West Virginia Book Festival – October 13 & 14, 2007
If you want to take a road trip this weekend consider visiting the West Virginia Book Festival in Charleston. Enjoy the variety of programs and authors for all ages and interests. The festival includes some authors who were with us at WVLA.
